Regiment 1012 Lance Corporal Australian Infantry AIF 14th Battalion Enlisted Dingley, near Heatherstone, Victoria 9th September 1914, farm labourer
Died 8th August 1915 Killed in action per the War Graves, but Southwater Parish Magazine says he died on the way to hospital.
Age 21 ( not 23 as given on SWG records)

This memorial commemorates 4392 ANZAC soldiers lost between April and December 1914
Family Son of Peter and Florence Laker of Southwater Street, Southwater, he gave his birth place as Faygate on the 1911 census. In 1901 the family were at Pear Tree Cottage, Two Mile Ash.
