Plans are being made for a ceremony to unveil the new War Memorial
Dedicated to all those people of Southwater who gave their lives
in times of conflict, for the defence of our freedom.

The memorial is under construction on the green in Lintot Square , near the brickyard gates.
The names will include those commemorated on the plaque in the church with some others that were omitted at the time it was made.

The Unveiling Ceremony is planned for
Sunday 7th September 2008 at 2pm

2008 commemorates the ninetieth anniversary of the cessation of hostilities of World War 1 and the ninetieth anniversary of the Royal Air Force

Please come along and join us on that day.
All veterans are invited to wear their medals and, if able, join the march.
The ceremony will be presided over by the Bishop of Horsham,
The Right Reverend Lindsay Goodall Urwin
with the salute being taken by Mr Hugh Wyatt,
Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex
and an address by the Rt Hon Francis Maude MP

The Chichester City Band will play for us through out the event
