Family His parents were Police Constable Allen Rapley (born 1864 Itchingfield) and his wife Rose (nee Charles). Charles became a farm Labourer when he left school before being employed by Cuddington Market Gardens at Kingston-on-Sea. In 1911 the family were at Slindon Police Station The family home was 2 Cairo Cottages, Cripplegate Lane, Southwater.
